CDCQ Masterclasses

Each season, the Compagnie de danse contemporaine du Québec (CDCQ) welcomes an exciting lineup of guest teachers to lead a series of exclusive masterclasses. These guest artists are not just exceptional educators—they are renowned professional dancers and choreographers working at the highest levels of the dance world.

Students get the rare chance to learn directly from artists who are actively performing, creating, and shaping the future of dance. Access to these masterclasses is one of the key benefits of joining CDCQ—an experience few other programs offer.

Rion Taylor

May 2026 Masterclass series

Rion Taylor established his roots in dance through the hip-hop culture of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Nurtured by Bad Taste Cru, he joined Battalions Crew in 2011 and competed throughout the UK and Europe.

Training under Akram Khan with the National Youth Dance Company inspired him to continue his exploration at London Contemporary Dance School, where he worked with Hofesh Shechter, Dane Hurst, and Punch Drunk, among other artists. At the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, he performed with the James Cousins Company in Rosalind.

Moving to Montreal in 2018 to work with RUBBERBAND, he has continued to represent the company performing throughout Canada, USA and internationally, as well as recently taking on the role of Artistic Coordinator.

Rion has been working closely with Jessica Muszynski since 2020, establishing himself alongside the emerging choreographer as a dancer, performing in festivals within Québec. In this current day, he identifies as a multi-disciplinary artist, and is always researching how to merge every aspect of his dance to elevate the potential for movement.

Jeremy Coachman

December 11, 2025 Masterclass

Originally from Riviera Beach, Florida, and currently based in Montreal, Jeremy Coachman is a professional dance artist who graduated from The Juilliard School in New York in 2015 with a BFA in Dance.

Since then, he has worked with dance companies such as Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal and L.A Dance Project, and with choreographers such as Bobbi Jene Smith & Or Schraiber, Andonis Foniadakis, Anne Plamondon, Juliano Nunez, Ihsan Rustem, Benjamin Millipied, Dimitri Chamblas, Stephanie Martinez, Ryan Heffington, Teresa ‘Toogie’ Barcelo, Denna Thompson and JA Collective to name a few.

Jeremy has also had the pleasure of working with music artists such as Miguel, Half.Alive, Dua Lipa, Mergui, Kate Hudson, Coeur de Pirate and Maude Audet, as well as commercial industries including Delta Airlines and BDC Bank. Jeremy has had the privilege to travel and perform to over 11 countries and hundreds of cities around the world, and loves to broaden the scope of what is possible for him in the dance industry.

Lésouta Luc Bambara

December 5, 2025 Masterclass

Lésouta Luc Bambara is from Burkina Faso and has been practicing traditional African dance since the age of 10.

In May 2009, he moved to Quebec and became a trainer for various dance events where he shared his passion for traditional dances. Co-founder of the Lamogoya Troupe, Luc has taught at Maison de L’Enfance André Dupont, Curé Antoine Labelle school in Laval, Régina school in Montreal, UQAM, Cégep du Vieux Montreal and Samajam the percussion school in Quebec since 2010.

He has performed throughout the province, participating in the Nuits Atypiques de Koudougou (NAK) festival, TOP Vacance Culture in Bobo-Dioulasso, Les nuits d’Afrique de Montréal, The Ethnocultural festival of Thetford Mines, and the rhythms of the world of Sherbrooke, and in 2006, he participated in the creation of a contemporary Afro dance project with Karine Cloutier in Burkina Faso that toured the province.

Anthony Lemke

November 2025 Masterclass Series

A fixture on Canadian screens, Lemke has a deep and diverse collection of credits to his name that spans over 20 years as a leading actor in the Canadian film and television industry, in both English and French. He is best known as the cocky, amoral mercenary “Three” on SyFy’s hit series Dark Matter, which aired for three seasons in over 160 countries worldwide.

Past projects include the hard-driving Detective Sergeant Brian Becker in CTV’s The Listener; a two-season arc on Bravo’s award-winning cop drama 19-2; as well as numerous multiple-episode arcs and guest star appearances on shows like the absurd college-comedy Blue Mountain State, and the hit action-drama Blindspot. His French language productions include regular and recurring roles in Les hauts et les bas de Sophie Paquin, Toute la Vie, Cerebrum and 30 Vies.

Anthony was also a series-regular on The Hardy Boys for Hulu and Autant en emportent les Framboises for Illico.

Anthony holds degrees in both Theatre and in Law. He is a member of the Quebec Bar.

Anna Sanchez

October 24, 2025 Masterclass

Anna Sanchez is a graduate of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, where she completed a diploma in classical and contemporary dance. She then went on to train in flamenco with Rocío Vadillo.

She recently performed in Minuit Quelque Part by Lydia Bouchard and Merryn Kritzinger (CAPAS – 2024/25), in works by Andrew Skeels (Past Rooms – 2023/24, New Creation – 2024/25, Lied der Mignon – 2021), as well as in Inner Land Mines by Eva Kolarova (2023). She also took part in Ensemble Caprice’s ArtCrush concert (2024) and the show Alma Flamenca at CJE Downtown (2024).

Deeply involved in Montréal’s dance community, Anna teaches flamenco and serves as Program Manager for TransFormation at Danse à la Carte, in addition to working as an assistant and répétiteur for the École supérieure.

A curious artist, she develops her own choreographic projects and nourishes her practice with a wide range of influences — from piano to flamenco — always guided by a desire to connect technique, expression, and authenticity.

Jessica Muszynski

September 2025 Masterclass Series

Jessica Joy Muszynski is a dancer & choreographer of Filipino and Polish descent who began her training in Richmond BC, before moving to Calgary AB in 2012. In 2019, she graduated from the inaugural class of USC Kaufman where she worked closely with William Forsythe, performing his works Enemy in the Figure, and In The Middle, Somewhat Elevated, alongside the works of Crystal Pite, Jiří Kylián, & Alejandro Cerrudo.

She joined RUBBERBAND after graduating – now in her 7th season. She has also worked with Aszure Barton & Artists, Anne Plamondon Productions, and Vías Danses. Founder of the JJSI collective est. 2020, her works have been presented at Festival de Danse Contemporaine de Sherbrooke, in Tangente’s Buissonnièrre Program, and at Festival Quartiers Danses where she received the “Prix Découverte” for her piece Fam ly. Her pieces explore conflict and she aims to depict the context of that experience in a way that allows viewers to safely inhabit & grieve chaos, if only for a moment. Her current works, such as Tête-à-Tête and All My Fears, investigate the countless angles of conflict and resolution while navigating conflicting visceral emotions within the body.

Daniela Jezerinac

April 2025 Masterclass Series

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Daniela Jezerinac began her dance training in Ballet, Jazz, Modern as well as Croatian Folklore. She received her BFA From the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase College in New York, while simultaneously joining RUBBERBAND before graduating.

Daniela has spent the last 6 seasons with the company and has been a key collaborator in the creation of Ever So Slightly and Reckless Underdog. She continues to teach at numerous Intensives as well as teaching and developing her own movement language. In addition, she has been a guest artist for Frog In Hand, which specializes in dance theatre, stage combat and clowning.

Daniela is currently a freelance artist and continues to collaborate with other local and international artists.

Alexandre Carlos

March 2025 Masterclass Series

Since graduating from the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in 2010, Alexandre worked for the company Cas Public until 2016, and now works for choreographers and companies such as Virginie Brunelle, Peter Chu, Geneviève Dorion-Coupal, Kyra Jean Green, Tedd Robinson, Pierre-Paul Savoie, Andrew Skeels, les 7 doigts de la main, Cirque du Soleil and Opéra de Québec.

He is a member of the duo Alex & Alex, finalists in both the second season and all-star season of Révolution. They are currently finalists in the 15th season of La France a un incroyable talent.

Alexandre signed his first professional creation Bourrasques, presented during the Festival Quartiers Danses program in 2015, and is co-founder of La Compagnie d’Été, which presented Kaléidoscope in 2015 and Emprise in 2017. He is co-choreographer and performer for the short film Carte Mère by Catherine Major.

Kuntiana (Rony)

December 2024 Masterclass Series

Kuntiana (Rony) is a dancer/artist in Montreal’s ballroom community. Voguing, their discipline, has led them to train at the Urban Element Zone studio and to take part in competitions in Toronto, Montreal and New York. Kuntiana identifies as a queer artist, and it’s their roots and identity that drive them to share their art.

Chantal Dauphinais

October 2024 Masterclass Series

After graduating from the professional ballet program at the École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec in 1986, Chantal danced at the Anna Wyman Dance Theater and the Ballets Jazz de Montréal. She later joined Celine Dion’s The Color of my Love tour which included a performance on the Tonight Show in Los Angeles.

She danced and choreographed several productions of the Opéra de Montreal: Aïda, La veuve joyeuse, Rigoletto, Eugène Onegin, La belle Hélène and La Chauve souris.

With her experience in the musicals; Chicago, Chantons sous la pluie, Sweet Charity, Grease, Demain Matin Montréal m’attend, Le big bazar, Ann of Green Gables, she danced and choreographed My Fair Lady, Cabaret, Irma la Douce, and played the role of dance teacher and choreographer at the Cruising Bar 2 cinema, on television for the popular show Le Match des Étoiles during the four seasons on Radio-Canada, as well as on Lip Sync Battle.

Passionate about Argentinian tango, she perfected her skills in Buenos Aires thanks to a grant from the Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Québec. On her return she played the main role in the TV film Macadam Tango, as well as the short film Revolver Tango (winner of the “prix du public” during the Montreal International Film Festival).

Chantal has shared her passion for dance and teaching for 46 years.  She teaches jazz inspired by the Luigi method, the Fosse style and Broadway style.

Adrian W.S. Batt

November 2024 Masterclass Series

Originally from Moncton, New Brunswick, and a graduate of École supérieure de ballet du Québec (ESBQ), Adrian W. S. Batt has collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Gioconda Barbuto and Vanessa Garcia-Ribala.

In 2018, he received a scholarship of excellence from the ESBQ’s youth program of the Caisse de la culture Desjardins. As a current member of the Compagnie Marie Chouinard since 2019, he has toured in over 10 countries, performing 7 works from the CMC repertoire. His piece Mundi Scaenam was presented at the Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) in 2019. With his company, Gargoyle Dance Club, he created Iunctio V in 2021, followed by his latest work, Portraits, in 2023 for the 21st edition of FQD.

In 2024 Adrian had the opportunity of presenting his most recent creation “Homines Per Terram” at the Festival Des Arts de Saint-Sauveur. Since graduating, Adrian has collaborated with his former school (ESBQ) as a guest choreographer and teacher.

Sarah Gibson

September 2024 Masterclass Series

Sarah received her training at l’École Supérieure de Ballet du Quebec where she studied with: Christine Clair, Daniel Seillier and Alexandra Wells.

After graduating in 1996, she joined the Alberta Ballet for one year. She then came back to Montreal to dance with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.

During her thirteen years with the company she danced in ballets choroegraphed by George Balanchine, Fernand Nault, Jean-Christophe Maillot, Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin Stjin Celis and Nacho Duato.

Sarah retired from Les Grands Ballets in May 2011 and went on to teach classical ballet to competitive figure skaters. In 2012 Sarah started her teacher training in the Essentrics Method and became a certified Essentrics Instructor .

In March 2019 Sarah was certified to teach The Gaga movement language created by Ohad Naharin from the Batsheva Dance company.

Sarah is very happy to return to her passion of dance and to share this language with everyone.
