2026 PRODUCTION: VIVORA
VIVORA is a luminous program of three contemporary dance works, created for and with the young dancers of the CDCQ. Under the direction of Artistic Director Jeremy Raia, the program brings together his own choreography with new works by Jessica Muszynski and Adrian W.S. Batt, each exploring youth from a distinct artistic perspective.
The three works navigate the delicate, electric terrain of first times: the thrill and fear of stepping into the unknown, the instinct to blend in, the moments of hiding born from self-doubt, and the shared discoveries that emerge when we realize we are not alone. From this recognition grows a vivid sense of self—finding one’s true colours, daring to reveal them, and embracing the confidence of authenticity.
Through close collaboration with the dancers, each choreographer transforms personal experience into movement that is poetic, playful, tender, and daring, stretching the young performers to new artistic heights. VIVORA invites audiences into a world where vulnerability meets courage, and where the energy, humour, and heart of youth shine fully and unapologetically.

VIVORA Choreographers
Jeremy Raia began his training in Queens, NY. He graduated from The Juilliard School with a BFA in 1996 and also studied at Boston
Ballet School and the Koniklijk Conservatory in the Netherlands. In 1996, he began his professional career with Ballet Arizona, dancing works by George Balanchine, Michael Uthoff and Daniel Ezralow.
After 2 seasons, he was invited to join Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal where he was a Premiere Dancer until retiring in 2018. A dancer of both classical and contemporary works by a multitude of choreographers, including George Balanchine, Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Christian Spuck, Jean-Christope Maillot and Ohad Naharin. He has originated roles in World Premieres by Stijn Celis, Didy Veldman, Mauro Bigonzetti and Stephan Thoss.
In 2017, Jeremy danced as a Guest Artist with Aszure Barton and Artists. Jeremy taught Company class and was an assistant to Ballet Masters at Les Grands Ballets. As a guest teacher, Jeremy has been invited to 4 continents in such places as Centre National de la Danse (France), Arts Umbrella and Ballet BC (Canada), Saarländisches Staatstheater (Germany), Charlotte Ballet (USA) amongst other Companies and schools.
He has been Artist in Residence at Hamilton College (NY) and Ballet Metropolitano (Colombia) and restaged choreography of Didy Veldman and Christian Spuck on Companies in Europe and USA. From 2018 until 2020, Jeremy was the Ballet Master at Ballet Jazz Montreal and served as Interim Artistic Director for the 2020/21 season. Currently, Jeremy is on faculty at École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec, Les Studios Grands Ballets and Danse a la Carte and is Co-Director of Propulsion, Co-Founder/Director of Festival Charlevoix Danse and Sajedance.
September 2025 Masterclass Series
Jessica Joy Muszynski is a dancer & choreographer of Filipino and Polish descent who began her training in Richmond BC, before moving to Calgary AB in 2012. In 2019, she graduated from the inaugural class of USC Kaufman where she worked closely with William Forsythe, performing his works Enemy in the Figure, and In The Middle, Somewhat Elevated, alongside the works of Crystal Pite, Jiří Kylián, & Alejandro Cerrudo.
She joined RUBBERBAND after graduating – now in her 7th season. She has also worked with Aszure Barton & Artists, Anne Plamondon Productions, and Vías Danses. Founder of the JJSI collective est. 2020, her works have been presented at Festival de Danse Contemporaine de Sherbrooke, in Tangente’s Buissonnièrre Program, and at Festival Quartiers Danses where she received the “Prix Découverte” for her piece Fam ly. Her pieces explore conflict and she aims to depict the context of that experience in a way that allows viewers to safely inhabit & grieve chaos, if only for a moment. Her current works, such as Tête-à-Tête and All My Fears, investigate the countless angles of conflict and resolution while navigating conflicting visceral emotions within the body.

November 2024 Masterclass Series
Originally from Moncton, New Brunswick, and a graduate of École supérieure de ballet du Québec (ESBQ), Adrian W. S. Batt has collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Gioconda Barbuto and Vanessa Garcia-Ribala.
In 2018, he received a scholarship of excellence from the ESBQ’s youth program of the Caisse de la culture Desjardins. As a current member of the Compagnie Marie Chouinard since 2019, he has toured in over 10 countries, performing 7 works from the CMC repertoire. His piece Mundi Scaenam was presented at the Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) in 2019. With his company, Gargoyle Dance Club, he created Iunctio V in 2021, followed by his latest work, Portraits, in 2023 for the 21st edition of FQD.
In 2024 Adrian had the opportunity of presenting his most recent creation “Homines Per Terram” at the Festival Des Arts de Saint-Sauveur. Since graduating, Adrian has collaborated with his former school (ESBQ) as a guest choreographer and teacher.

2025 PRODUCTION: JUVENISOMA
On May 3 and May 4, 2025 Compagnie de danse contemporaine du Québec (CDCQ), and its Artistic Director, Jeremy Raia, presented the world-premiere of Juvenisoma, an evening of bold and evocative dance works by acclaimed choreographers Jérémy Galdeano and Amara Barner, which had been created expressly for the talented artists of CDCQ.
The title, Juvenisoma, spoke to the weight of youth—not as a burden, but as a rich tapestry of experiences. These powerful works dived into the complexities of adolescence, exploring its emotional highs, sudden shifts, and ever-evolving transformations. Galdeano’s piece, “everything is pink to me”, and Barner’s, Next in Line, each captured both the lightness and depth of this defining stage of life.

2024 PRODUCTION: REVÊRIE
On May 4th, 2024 the Compagnie de danse contemporaine du Québec (CDCQ), formerly the Préville Youth Dance Company, presented RÊVERIE, a world-premiere performance of contemporary choreography by Jera Wolfe. Former premiere dancer from Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and Master Teacher, Jeremy Raia, guided the CDCQ through this exciting process, as their new Artistic Director.
RÊVERIE is meditation on friendship, growth and promise. It highlighted the dedicated work of young, aspiring dancers and united them with two local professional dancers who joined the project, Leah Tremblay and Émile Vasconcelos-Taillefer.
This 45-minute long piece was in the works for over a year, with the dancers rehearsing in the evenings and weekends, which allowed them to continue their studies at their regular schools.
About halfway through the process, Jera spoke on camera about the importance of young dancers being exposed to the world of professional dance creation, and how most dancers don’t get that opportunity until, and if, they enter the professional realm.
